Overview
It is a Pilot for a television show based off of 80’s Buddy Cop-like shows of that decade, however I feel as if I have turned the genre on its head by making the humor deadpan the same as other cop shows would have been but the jokes they make are jokes that may have had trouble making it to air.
I had a lot of passion when making this Pilot episode, I had plans to create this film back in 2021 when I was sitting in Maths class one day bored and came up with a vague story line around a group of cops. The plot of the pilot ended up being changed multiple times as I had unrealistic expectations of what I could make for the Pilot and thought that I would be able to make an action movie but as a 14 year old you don’t take much realisation into how much editing skill goes into content and how much money you need to fund into short films.
I originally didn’t plan to make the Pilot and introduction to the characters and why Jason got into being a policeman, my original idea was just going to be thrown into a normal episode where a car chase would be happening in the beginning but not only could I not pull this off because none of us could drive at the time, I felt that an introduction would probably be better for this style of film then revealed later.
The idea came back into fruition when I had my Final Major College Project at the end of my first year in TV & Film.
